111 = Strength

The card Strength(=39/111) in the tarot represents the a struggle to tame one's inner bestial nature. A woman(Lady and Lion=48/111)(Or sometimes a man) is shown wrestling a lion in a cave, or holding its mouth open. This holding open the mouth represents the transformation between a beast and a man, which is language. In the act of taming the inner lion, one is trying to bring its powerful chaotic energy into focus to form a solid word.
In Greek mythology the Minotaur(=39/111) is a combination of man and beast. In myth, he resides in a labyrinth. Just as in the tarot card Strength, you must go into the dark realm of the beast to confront it.

Humanity itself is the struggle to gain control over the beast.

The only difference is whether it is masculine or feminine. The feminine approach to strength is to tame and nurture the beast, to work in harmony. The masculine approach is to control and dominate the beast, to conquer it.

In addition to being a sephirah on the Qabalistic Tree of Life, this is the result of overcoming 111. Odyssey=31/112 Adventure, exploration and victory are the result of a mastery over 111.

55 = Satan

Satan=10/55
God of the underworld, the dead. Symbol of the unconscious, beastly drives.

The ground which gives life and to which dead things return.

The god Pan whom satan is based upon(Pan=13/31), is equated to the god of the sky in Greek mythology, Ouranos(=31/103). Ouranos means sky, or Father(31/58) Sky.
One of the goals of Christendom was to be used as an 'opiate to the masses', or a means of religiously satisfying the beastly natured natives of uncivilized earth. The Satan archetype was used as a means for 'savages' to identify with their lower nature and therefore potentially rise above it. Savage=19/55. It is interesting to note that, while the singular word savage by equalling 55 suggests the Satan-like nature of man, when it is made plural to Savages=20/74, it equals 74, the image of beauty(Jesus) and light. Christianity does tend to place the lower nature as degenerate in individuals, regarding the masses or community as the greater good.

If you've ever seen Rosemary's baby, you probably already have a bit of an Occult interest brewing. A basic plot summary: A woman married to a struggling actor becomes the victim of a ritual occult rape, on goes a movie of intense symbolism, and in the end she bears the baby of satan. Rosemary's baby=55/163. Also at the beginning of the ritual rape scene, a man shouts '55!'

A Language in English Numerology, and the Number 38

Gematria is a part of the Qabalah that uses the numerical value of words to find deeper meaning in these words and their relationships. This was done with Hebrew using a preconceived set of values for each letter. Using this method, Gematria, in English is a very interesting and profound way of revealing the intricate patterns that exists in numbers behind our language. The most basic systems for English are what I'll refer to as the 1-26 method, where A=1, B=2...Z=26, and the 1-9 method, where A=1, I=9, J=1, R=9, S=1, z=8(Tables provided below) but there are numerous other codexs with different values ascribed to each letter. Hollywood is full of Qabalistic symbolism, and it's interest only seems to be growing lately. Secret societies seem to latch on to this as a symbolic form of communication or understanding. Indeed the Occult, the Masons, and the Holy Roman Church all seem to have intense interest in this archaic practice.



At this point I will address the question of a deliberate design with an explanation of the number 38. By 1-9 method and 1-26-

The concept of Death implies the destruction that precedes new creation, change. A constant cyclical flow is at work where new life can be formed out of the left-over carcasses of the past. English has for some part been nitpicked word by word to create an official language and official spellings, but for the most part is has evolved naturally, words forming, disassembling, reassembling, words combining, words formed from sounds, all happening in the chaotic imagination of men and women. English and Gematria both equal 38. The English language itself and this practice are synonymous to the ever flowing and constantly changing nature of death. Every year words from our language are slung into the incinerator, banished from our language. Some manage to seep out of consciousness simply because they aren't relevant anymore. Society makes up words every day to try and attach a worthy name to the indescribable world we have before us. There is far more meaning to the construction of our words than many understand. Numerical values exist as a guide for us to understand the archetypes prevalant in the human psyche. This is the opposite theory to our language was created with a secret code built-in. Both are true. However you choose to interpret the existence of this Numerical Language, it is a vital part of humanity's art.
